The Hafenklang is a live club in Hamburg with two large concert halls and a bar.
history
The house was built in 1890 and served as a stable for the tram horses of the former Hamburg port railway . In the 1970s, Hafenklang established itself as a meeting place for artists, as the city's first 24-track studio was set up there. Udo Lindenberg , Einstürzende Neubauten , Jerry Manga and other artists recorded their first sound carriers there. Nowadays, in addition to concerts by small and lesser-known bands from the metal, rock, punk and electronic scenes, there are also numerous parties on the program. In the concert room on the first floor, the "Golden Salon", you have the opportunity to eat. This is also where the punk regulars table takes place.
In 1997 the Hafenklang was saved from demolition by massive protests. In 2007 and 2008 the club moved to premises on Grosse Bergstrasse in Altona-Altstadt for renovation reasons, then moved back to the building on Grosse Elbstrasse, which had been increased by three floors and now also housed the "Golden Salon" and offices.
