Detlev von Reventlow (District Administrator)

Detlev Christian Graf von Reventlow (born October 23, 1876 in Wittenberg , † 1950 in Pronstorf ) was a German administrative lawyer and association functionary.

Life

It came from the Altenhof line and the branch of the von Reventlow dynasty , which is located on Gut Wittenberg, now a part of Martensrade . His father Adolph Graf von Reventlow was a real secret councilor and lord of Wittenberg, his mother Nancy was a born Countess of Rantzau. Ernst Emil Kurt von Reventlow was his older brother.

After graduating from the Katharineum in Lübeck (Easter 1894), Detlev Graf Reventlow studied law at the University of Lausanne , the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Berlin . In 1895 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Tübingen . In 1898 he passed the trainee examination and in 1904 the assessor examination at the Chamber Court . He joined the internal administration of the Kingdom of Prussia and was district administrator of the Guben district from 1910 to 1920 . In 1921 he went to the German Savings Banks and Giro Association , becoming its deputy managing director . He was a member of the supervisory board of Märkische Elektrizitätswerk AG in Berlin.

In his first marriage he was born in 1912 with Jenny. von Dechend (* 1893) married. The marriage ended in divorce in 1928. In his second marriage he married Edith, geb. Engel (* 1894), a daughter of the privy councilor and professor Walther Engel in Potsdam. The theologian Henning Graf Reventlow (1929-2010) was a son from this marriage.
