The German Society for Positive Psychological Research eV (DGPPF) is an association of scientists from various disciplines who are active in research and teaching in the context of positive psychology . It is an interdisciplinary research and teaching association and the first German research society for positive psychology. Its founding and the organization of the first conference on positive psychological research in Germany secure the connection to international research (European Network for Positive Psychology, PP listing Denmark). She is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA). The DGPPF is based in Lorich near Trier.

aims

The DGPPF strives to promote and disseminate scientific positive psychology and the international visibility of positive psychological research from German-speaking countries. This goal is pursued by promoting positive psychological science and research. For this purpose:

  • The organization of specialist congresses and smaller specialist conferences.
  • The organization and implementation of lectures, lectures and workshops.
  • The promotion of interdisciplinary exchange within the research field of positive psychology. This includes in particular the support of research and development using existing and new technologies, ideas, abilities and skills from the various disciplines.
  • The promotion of specialist publications.
  • Participation in events such as conferences, symposia, workshops.
  • The creation of empirical measuring instruments for scientific data collection as well as the collection and evaluation of empirical data.
  • The promotion of the nationwide and international exchange of information with comparable organizations.
  • The promotion and support of the members within the scope of the association's purpose.
  • Securing and expanding the position of positive psychology at universities, in research institutes and other scientific institutions, in school lessons and other training areas as well as in public by promoting the above and other initiatives, insofar as it makes sense to achieve the purpose.

The non-profit status was recognized by the tax office in Trier.

Scientific Conferences

The first DGPPF conference was held in May 2016 on the topic of State of the Art: the status of positive psychological research in German-speaking countries at the University of Trier . Around 100 researchers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg took part in the conference. The conference received widespread media coverage.

The second DGPPF conference on how people grow - positive psychological development of the individual, organization and society took place in June 2017 at the University of Trier . About 110 participants came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Poland. The conference received media coverage.

The third conference of the DGPPF on the subject of growing together - promoting the positive development of individuals, organizations and society took place from 03.-05. May 2018 at the Ruhr University Bochum . Over 200 participants from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, South Africa, Indonesia, Luxembourg and Turkey attended the conference. The keynotes were given by Tanja Gabriele Baudson (University of Luxembourg), Tobias Esch (University of Witten / Herdecke), Maike Luhmann (Ruhr University Bochum), Jürgen Margraf (Ruhr University Bochum) and Willibald Ruch (University of Zurich, Switzerland). In addition, Eckart von Hirschhausen gave a lecture on the subject of humor helps heal .

Award ceremonies and winners

During the first conference of the DGPPF at the University of Trier, Falko Rheinberg (professorship for psychology, retired, University of Potsdam ) was awarded the “Golden Chain of Positive Research” for his outstanding life's work in the field of flow and motivation research “Awarded. He is the first winner to be awarded this award by the DGPPF.

During the second DGPPF conference on June 10, 2017, three prizes were awarded: The science prize went to Anton-Rupert Laireiter ( University of Vienna / University of Salzburg ), the young talent prize went to Friedrich Meixner ( University of Ulm ) and the innovation prize went to Magdalena Laib ( Stuttgart Media University ).

Also during the third DGPPF conference on May 5, 2018, three prizes were awarded: The science award went to Bernhard Schmitz ( TU Darmstadt ), the young talent award to Katharina Breuer ( Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln ) as well as to Florens Goldbeck ( University Hospital Tübingen ) and the Innovation award to Tanja Gabriele Baudson ( University of Luxembourg ).
