Tanja Gabriele Baudson

Tanja Gabriele Baudson (* 1976 in Koblenz ) is a German psychologist and talent researcher. Her scientific work focuses on giftedness , creativity and intelligence . In 2018 she was named University Lecturer of the Year by the German University Association.

Career

Baudson studied Romance and American Studies at the University of Bonn and the Sorbonne in Paris (graduating in 2002 with a Magister ) as well as psychology in Bonn and Gold Coast (Australia) . She graduated with a diploma in 2005 . In 2007 she spent a semester as a visiting scholar in Japan . In 2011 she was awarded a doctorate degree from the University of Trier with summa cum laude. rer. nat. PhD. After a research stay at the Educational Testing Service in Princeton as well as professorships at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Technical University of Dortmund , she has been teaching at the Université de Luxembourg since 2017 .

Her scientific work focuses on the fields of giftedness, creativity and intelligence. She developed two standardized intelligence tests: a test to measure the general cognitive performance of primary school children in grades 1–4 and an intelligence screening that allows a very precise assessment of the test person's intelligence in a very short test time of just three minutes. Her study of prejudices against the gifted met with particular interest. Baudson heads the specialist group "Talent" of the German Society for Positive Psychological Research (DGPPF)

In 2017 she was one of the initiators and central coordinator of the March for Science in Germany, at which a total of 37,000 people demonstrated for the freedom of science in 22 cities. She is chairwoman of the non-profit organization March for Science eV

In 2020 she was a founding member of the Hans-Albert-Institut.
