Spectrum of science publishing company
The Scientific American publishing company based in Heidelberg is the publishing group Springer Nature belonging Verlag , the magazines on various, mostly science published topics. In addition to the magazine Spektrum der Wissenschaft, which has been published since 1978, this includes the following issue series:
- Stars and Space (from 2001)
- Brain & Mind (from 2002)
- Astronomy Today (2003-2008)
- Adventure archeology (2004-2007)
- epoc (2008–2012)
- Spectrum neo (2011-2014)
In the spectrum library book series , 37 volumes were published between 1984 and 1993.
Pure online publications are the scientific weekly newspaper Spektrum.de - Die Woche and the series Spektrum Kompakt , which bundles articles from print and online on current topics.
The publisher operates the online science portal Spektrum.de (formerly Wissenschaft-Online ) and the scientific blog portal SciLogs , on which scientists and journalists publish. The authors include the mathematician Günter Ziegler , the climate researcher Stefan Rahmstorf , the linguist Anatol Stefanowitsch (until 2012), the religious scholar Michael Blume and the palaeon suite Reinhold Leinfelder .
In 2010 the publisher developed the AcademiaNet excellence database together with the Robert Bosch Stiftung .
A spin-off founded in 1991 and now sold is Spektrum Akademischer Verlag (SAV), which has a turnover of 7 million euros with 700 predominantly German-language scientific books and three magazines ( e.g. BIOSpektrum ) (as of 2006).
The publisher was formerly called Spektrum der Wissenschaft mbH .
