The band was named after the Cadillac DeVille . A split release with Sergej the Freak called Sergej the Freak meets Deville was released on Daredevil Records in late 2005 . In 2007 the band signed a contract with Buzzville Records . In December 2007, the debut album Come Heavy Sleep , which was recorded in 2006 and 2007, was released in the Benelux countries . Then the group went on touring Europe. In 2011 and 2012 Deville wrote the next album called Hydra . After the recordings, Hambitzer left the line-up and was replaced by the guitarist Jan Persson. After the album was released in March 2013 on Small Stone Records , Persson left the band in the summer and was replaced by Andreas Wulkan. 2013 and 2014 followed by appearances in the USA and Europe, before the album Make It Belong to Us was recorded in the Sunnanå Studios in the summer of 2015 . The material was mixed and produced by the drummer Markus Nilsson. The release took place in November on the Swedish label Fuzzorama Records . The publication was preceded by a tour with Mustasch through Germany and Switzerland in October . Also Hail the Black Sky as these influences to be, but melodic and processed also Foo Fighters - and Audioslave Bonds. Hydra "still relies on some stoner riffs ,but clearlygivespreference tothe rock part ". According to Janne Stark in The Heaviest Encyclopedia of Swedish Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Ever! Deville was a stoner band, with riffs that would be reminiscent of Les Paul . The music can be heard influences from Black Sabbath, Kyuss and Fu Manchu . In an interview with Jörg Staude from Rock Hard , Andreas Bengtsson stated that the band is not only influenced by Black Sabbath and Soundgarden , but also by Mastodon and Kvelertak .
