Dictated is a Dutch death metal band from Utrecht , which was founded in 2006 under the name Stone Squad .
history
The band was founded in 2006 by guitarists Jessica Otten and Sonja Schuringa after they met at a cryptopsy concert in Groningen . The group initially called itself Stone Squad, before moving its headquarters from Utrecht to Kampen and renaming itself Dictated. Since 2008 the band has been active under the name Dictated. In 2010 the debut album Summary of Retribution was self-published. Since 2012 the band has performed all over Europe with concerts in Scotland , Germany , England , France , Italy and Portugal . The group played together with Origin , Psycroptic , Suffocation and Hail of Bullets . Through the album, Henri Sattler from God Dethroned and Jason Keyser from Origin became aware of the band, who offered to produce the next album. Drummer Michiel van der Plicht also joined the cast through Sattler. York Keijzer took over the vocals, Jason Keyser can be heard in a song as a guest singer. In September 2014 the band went to the Soundlodge Studio . The album was released in 2014 on Metal Blade Records under the name The Deceived .
style
According to Thomas Strater from Metal Hammer , the band plays brutal death metal on The Deceived , with hardly any melodies or slow passages being used. In the songs will "of punk - grind end riffs on Misery Index -Gehacke to Dying Fetus or - Dyscarnate celebrated -Spielereien the guitars [...] the great supervisors-foot-Sport".
