The cassette is the second part of a 14-part series with Sherlock Holmes as the main character. Hugo Flink played Sherlock Holmes , directed by Carl Heinz Wolff .

The Berlin police imposed a youth ban (No. 41070), the Munich police did not allow any announcement as a detective film (No. 25810, 25811, 25812, 25813). The Reich Film Censorship Munich also issued a youth ban on October 12th (No. 763).
