The Parasites were a German punk band. What is unusual for the genre is that the band consisted mostly of female members. The band existed from 1997 until they split up in 2010.

From 1997 to 2006 the line-up of the band remained unchanged. In the spring of 2006 Mone left the band, whereupon Isi changed from drums to her position, the guitar. Nora then joined the group as a drummer. In the summer of 2008 Isi left the band and was temporarily replaced by Jens aka "The Unknown Rockstar".

In May 2003 the band gave several concerts in Austria . On July 15, 2004 the band was a support act for Such a Surge at the “ Fantastival ” in Dinslaken . On February 6, 2005, a support act for the London punk band The Vibrators in Cologne followed . The band also played as a support act for Male . In January 2006 the band had a TV appearance on KI.KA on the Reläxx show and played at the Tsukahara Festival . In December 2006 the band was the opener at Punk im Pott in the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen . In August 2006 the band played at the Staatsforsten Open Air . In 2007 and 2009 the band performed again at Punk im Pott . The band gave their farewell concert on May 1st, 2010 in the Krefelder Kulturfabrik with the bands SFH, Planlos and Betontod .
