Planlos is a German punk rock band from Grevenbroich that was active from 1993 to 2010. It was reformed in 2019.

history

The band was founded in Grevenbroich in late 1993 by the later singer Pino and the then drummer Sylvester Saveski . After half a year in the rehearsal room, the first concerts were played together with the three other members.

The band played live at parties in the surrounding area and as the opening act for WIZO . Concerts with other bands in Ratingen followed. During this early period, a first demo was recorded in a Kaarst music studio. After that, the first members left the band and were replaced. Since Pino could record songs with his 8-track device, the first two published songs appeared on the vitamin pill sampler .

In 1996 the band recorded their first single, Gruss aus Ibiza, in their own production at the Ratinger Studio Sound Station . There was an 800-fold edition that quickly sold out. With this single, the band also managed to come to concerts nationwide and to get a contract with ZYX Music .

In autumn 1997 the band went back to the studio to record a cover version of the hit song Damn, I Love You by Matthias Reim and three other songs. The single made it onto various samplers, such as the Bertelsmann sampler Planet Pop (chart hits made in Germany) with numerous successful bands and artists.

The first album Spiel des Lebens (1998) brought the band a record deal with the Day-Glo Records label and the SPV distributor . The album was thus available in stores across Germany. At the end of 1998 the band gave a sold out Christmas concert in their hometown Grevenbroich .

Various supports followed at The Living End , UK Subs and smaller bands, sampler contributions and concerts all over Germany. In the year 2000, the second album was released, Betrayed & Sold . Before the recordings, there was a change of line-up on the drums. Michael Loecker joined the band for Sylvester Saveski. A contract had been signed with Universal in advance . This was followed by several supports for the band The Bates and a small tour of Germany through small clubs and youth centers.

With the album Champagner & Zigarrenqualm (2002) there was a label change to Supermusic and the new distributor Conected . From now on, the plates were also sold in Switzerland and Austria . The label change brought the time and the financial means to be able to work more professionally. Guest musicians for piano and harmonica support the band. Zimbel from The Bates sang along with the song Immer weiter . The song was used for a Hyundai commercial. There was also an Italian version that was later released as a single (limited edition). The single Immer weiter ran several times on the radio and appeared on various samplers. A separate tour through German clubs and trips to Switzerland and Austria followed.

In the summer of 2004 Planlos organized the "10 Years PLANLOS" concert in their hometown with 1000 spectators. At the end of 2004 the collaboration with drummer Michael Loecker was ended.

At the beginning of 2005 the band recorded their album Klartext in the Mini Rock Studio in Cologne. Drummer Christian Sommer, who had already assisted the band as a studio musician on other recordings, came back into action and joined Planlos as a permanent member of the band shortly after the studio recordings. At the end of May the band presented the new album to over 1000 fans at Tor 3 in Düsseldorf . A live album and a live DVD were recorded for the occasion. In the same year various successful appearances followed in Germany and Austria. In the spring of 2006, the band was able to present itself to a large audience in the RTL II -Heimwerker-Soap Hammer-Soap .

In January 2006 bassist Michael Schmitz left the band and was replaced by Christoph Herder. In September 2006 the drummer Christian Sommer was replaced by Rene Menk. With this line-up, they started the Germany-wide Klartext tour in spring 2007 . In 2008 the new album Feuer und Flamme was released and the band toured Germany .

On March 17, 2010, the band announced their split for December 2010. Before that, an album was released and a farewell tour was played. Lead singer Pino Avanzato founded the band "Lucky Charm" together with Planlos drummer Rene Menk, which plays a mixture of modern rock'n'roll with alternative rock elements and German lyrics.

On July 3, 2019, the band announced a return via Facebook and Instagram. A new album is being worked on and concerts are planned.
