The revenge (original title: La venganza ) is a Spanish drama film directed by Juan Antonio Bardem from 1958. The film was shown in the competition at the 11th Cannes International Film Festival .

After ten years, Juan Díaz, convicted of innocent murder, is released from prison. His sister Andrea stirs up Juan's hatred of Luis el Torcido, the brother of the murder victim and alleged murderer. Since everyone has to earn money, they team up with three other field workers to look for work in Castile . During the work the situation escalates several times, Juan Díaz repeatedly vows to kill Luis. But Andrea falls in love with the formerly so hated Luis and tries to dissuade Juan from the murder. Finally, Juan gives up his revenge plan and allows Luis and Andrea to stay together.
