On October 24, 2016, the series was included in the program of the Sat.1 channel . Apart from a short break, it ran every day Monday to Friday at 7:00 p.m. In July 2018, Sat.1 changed its program the evening before; since then, Die Ruhrpottwache is no longer broadcast.
Spin-off
On May 22, 2018, the offshoot "Urgent suspect - Duisburg Crime Stories" started on Sat.1 , on the original slot at 7:00 p.m. The first season consisted of 14 episodes, which started on May 22nd to June 8th 2018, from Monday to Friday.
