The beautiful Krista is a documentary by Antje Schneider and Carsten Waldbauer from 2013 .

The cow Krista is to be developed as the “top model among ruminants” to become the trademark of Europe's food industry. She was discovered by a young East Frisian farmer (Jörg) who is very committed to this project and to the cow Krista. But their down-to-earth nature resists the commercial exploitation mechanisms.

Production and publication

The film is a production by Lichtblick Film and Lichtblick Media in coproduction with ZDF , Das kleine Fernsehspiel . The project was developed in cooperation with the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW , Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung , Nordmedia , Kuratorium Junge deutscher Film and the Bremen Film Office . The beautiful Krista was awarded by Ariés Images.

The film was shown for the first time in 2013 at the 47th Hof Film Festival, and it was released in Germany on March 20, 2014.
