The arrival of the Olympic torch changes that: the grocer's daughter, with whom a member of the group fell in love, is enthusiastic about sports. Gérard , who is in love , attempts suicide , but it fails. Now Les Charlots go to the village to help prepare the - invented - Olympic Games in Paris in 1976 and to get a second chance with the young woman. Initially, however, the athletes slip up and finally they steal bicycles from the French national team in order to show up in time for the games.
