Diego Ángel Capel Trinidad (born February 16, 1988 in Albox ) is a Spanish football player who has been under contract with FC Birkirkara since 2019 .
Player career
Born in Andalusia, Diego Capel began his professional career at Sevilla FC , where he made his first-team debut in 2004. With the Spanish U-20 national team , he took part in the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada . There he met in the first game to 2-2 in stoppage time against Uruguay. He scored his first goal for Sevilla FC in the Primera División on February 9, 2008 in the home game against FC Barcelona . This year Capel completed his only two internationals for the Spanish senior team against Denmark and Bosnia and Herzegovina under Vicente del Bosque . In the 2009/10 season , Diego Capel won the Copa del Rey with Sevilla under coach Antonio Álvarez . In 2011 he was with Spain under Luis Milla U-21 European Champion .
In July 2011 Capel moved to the traditional Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon . In August 2015 he was appointed Genoa in the Italian Serie A transfers. This was followed by further positions at RSC Anderlecht and Extremadura UD . Since 2019 he has been under contract with FC Birkirkara in Malta .
