Dieter Biewald (born December 8, 1932 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Biewald attended the 7th high school on Hermannplatz , today's Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Berlin-Neukölln . After graduating from high school, he studied chemistry and later geography at the Free University of Berlin , at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the Polytechnic in Athens . He passed his first state examination for teaching in 1961, his assessor examination in 1963, his second state examination in 1967 and he received his doctorate in 1971 on coral reefs and geomorphology .

Biewald was assistant at the Free University of Berlin in the chemical institute and in the geomorphological institute, study assessor, teacher at the Steglitz high school , teacher , director of studies and deputy director at the Tannenberg high school in Berlin-Lichterfelde .

In 1967 Biewald joined the CDU. He sat in the Berlin House of Representatives from 1973 to 1999 . From 1975 to 1997 he was broadcasting councilor at the SFB , from 1992 to 1997 program committee and chairman of the advisory board of ARD . On December 3rd, 2008 he was appointed city ​​elder of Berlin .
