Dieter Hinz

Dieter Hinz (born March 16, 1955 in Watzenborn-Steinberg ; † May 31, 2012 in Hanover ) was a German artist in the fields of painting , graphics , cartoons and set design . He became known through the founding of the artist group Freiraum.

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1970, he attended a chemistry school from 1970 to 1972 and worked from 1972 to 1975 in the laboratory of the Jänecke and Schneemann printing ink factories and in the Dr. Host and partner in Hanover. From 1975 to 1977 Hinz attended a theology school in Wiedenest . He then completed various internships in the social field and acquired the technical college entrance qualification in social pedagogy . After he became a state-recognized educator in 1982, he went to the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig . In 1986 he founded the artist group “Freiraum” together with Regine Schumann and Frank Fuhrmann.

In 1987 he completed his studies in fine art at the Braunschweig University of Art . In 1990 he received a grant from the state of Lower Saxony . He came to China for the first time to prepare for artist exchange projects with a project funding from the Foreign Office . Thanks to a work grant from the state of Lower Saxony, he was able to travel to China again a year later. In 1997 he was awarded a working grant from the Heitland Foundation .

Dieter Hinz was not limited to one way of working, but devoted himself to different painterly issues. He says about himself: "" I am not interested in being committed, I paint representationally as well as abstractly, it goes from extremely calculated to very affective "".

Early works

Between 1983 and 1988 Dieter Hinz carried out various activities accompanying his studies in the areas of: painting hall, stage technology , opera , stage design department and visual advertising at the Lower Saxony State Theater in Hanover . He also helped set up the Hanover Theater Museum. Since 1987 he has worked as a freelance artist. In 1988 he got his first exhibition "cardalog" in Hanover. Since 1989 he has been working freelance in the fields of graphics, layout, text, conception, cartoons and set design. He was later commissioned to do the following:
