Dieter Krone

Dieter Krone (born August 2, 1963 in Freren ) is a German politician ( non-party ). He is the Lord Mayor of Lingen (Ems) .

Life

Dieter Krone grew up in Beesten . After graduating from high school in 1982 at the Leoninum grammar school in Handrup and completing basic military service , Krone completed a teaching degree in music and geography at the University of Osnabrück from 1983 to 1988 . Since 1991 he was teacher and since 1997 a senior teacher at St. Francis High School Lingen . In addition to teaching, he led several choirs and the school's big band as well as the Lingen eV choir workshop

Dieter Krone is married and has two daughters. He lives in the Laxten district of Lingen .

Political career

After the previous Lord Mayor Heiner Pott ( CDU ) moved to Lower Saxony's Ministry of Social Affairs, Women, Family, Health and Integration as State Secretary in April 2010 , Krone stood as a non-party candidate for a new election on September 12, 2010. He was supported by the SPD and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . In the first ballot he received 27.77% of the vote and thus the second highest percentage of votes, the CDU candidate Hans-Josef Leinweber received 39.19%.

In the runoff election held on September 26th, Krone received an absolute majority with 56.62% of the votes and was thus able to prevail against the CDU candidate.

In the Mayor election on April 22, 2018, Dieter Krone received 73.93% of the vote. The only competitor, Robert Koop from the electoral association “Die Bürgerernahen”, received 26.07% of the vote.
