Dieter Murmann

Dieter Murmann (born May 12, 1934 in Dortmund ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Murmann is the son of the factory owner Walter Murmann and brother of the former president of the BDA Klaus Murmann . After graduating from high school in 1954 at the Archigymnasium Dortmund , he was trained as a reserve officer in the air force ( lieutenant in the reserve). He studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and mining at the Technical University of Aachen . In 1968 he was with the dissertation stock selection at coal mines with the help of contribution margins for Dr.-Ing. PhD . He then became managing director of JP Sauer & Sohn Maschinenbau GmbH . Later he was the owner and managing partner of the family-owned company. Murmann is a member of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein and was chairman of the economic council of the CDU from 1989 to 2000 . In 2000 he became honorary chairman of the association. He was also President of the German Chamber of Commerce in Austria . He is married and has four kids. Since 1955 he has been a member of the Corps Franconia Munich .
