Dietrich Brömse (1470–1508)

Dietrich Brömse (born August 2, 1470 in Lübeck ; † March 13, 1508 ibid) was councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Dietrich Brömse was probably the oldest of the sons of the Lübeck mayor Heinrich Brömse . In 1501 he became a member of the patrician circle society in Lübeck. After the death of his father, he was elected to the Lübeck council on March 22, 1506. This year Brömse was in command of the town of Mölln , pledged by the Dukes of Saxony-Lauenburg and besieged by Mecklenburg troops in 1506 during the Lübeck feud .

Dietrich Brömse was married to Margarethe, a daughter of the Lübeck councilor Johann Bere ; the later Lübeck councilor Heinrich Brömse was their son. Dietrich Brömse was the owner of the Klein Steinrade estate on the outskirts of the city. Several years after his untimely death, his brother Nikolaus Brömse was elected to the council and later also mayor of the city. His widow married Lambert Wickinghof .
