Dietrich Meister (born July 18, 1927 in Reinfeld , Pomerania ; † May 28, 2014 ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Dietrich Meister attended the Rudolf Virchow Oberschule in Schivelbein until he was 16 , before he was drafted into military service in 1943. He joined the NSDAP on April 20, 1944 . After his release from Soviet captivity in 1945, Meister fled to Hesse and worked as a moulder, caster and driver before joining the Federal Customs Administration (customs border service) in 1952.

Master was married and had two sons.

politics

Meister has been a member of the CDU since 1961 and was CDU district chairman (1963–1994) of the Eschwege and Werra-Meißner districts as well as deputy chairman of the CDU North Hesse, and since 1994 honorary chairman of the Werra-Meißner CDU district association.

1964–1997 he was a member of the district assembly, during this time he was parliamentary group chairman for ten years and deputy district assembly chairman for another ten years.

Dietrich Meister was a member of the Hessian state parliament for six electoral terms from December 1, 1970 to April 4, 1991, 1987-1991 chairman of the penal subcommittee.

In 1974, 1979, 1984 and 1989 Meister was a member of the Federal Assembly .

Honors

Dietrich Meister is a bearer of the Great Federal Cross of Merit and an honorary member of the Association of Prison Service Agents of Germany (Landesverband Hessen).
