Dietrich Petzold
Dietrich Petzold (born January 8, 1954 in Bad Berka ) is a German violinist, composer and audio book director .
Life
Petzold grew up as the son of the church musician and composer Johannes Petzold in Eisenach and Weimar, where he completed classical violin training from 1959 to 1970. Since 1975 he has been a freelance violinist and violist as a soloist in various line-ups , LP and CD productions, film and TV (including: Klaus Lenz -Big-Band, Uschi Brüning & Co., Stefan Diestelmann Folk Blues Band, Toto Blanke , Manialdi - Quartet , Zülfü Livaneli , Maria Farantouri , Mikis Theodorakis , Chris Jarrett , Zotos Kompania , Michael Griener , Wu Wei , Johannes Bauer , Butch Morris ).
Since 1980 Dietrich Petzold has also composed for theater, film and television (including DEFA , Deutsches Theater Berlin , Landestheater Schwerin, Landestheater Greifswald / Stralsund , Kleist-Theater Frankfurt, Hackesches Hoftheater , Neues Theater Halle , Junge Theater Zürich, Staatstheater Cottbus , University for film and television "Konrad Wolf" , Teatret Vart, Molde / Norway).
Since the founding of his “office for applied music ” tonus arcus , music for radio plays and radio features has also been created (including for DS Kultur , SWF , MDR , ORB , SFB , NDR , DR , ORF , Hörbuch-Verlag, RBB ), as well as numerous audio books , Jazz and chamber music productions (including for Deutschlandfunk , DeutschlandRadio Kultur, RAI III, Radioropa , ZDF , Radio Toscana Classica). Dietrich Petzold lives in Berlin. He is the chairman of the Kulturinitiative Förderband e. V. and has a daughter.
