Rupakot Majhuwagadhi ( Nepali रुपाकोट मझुवागढी ) is a city ( municipality ) in eastern Nepal in the Khotang district .

The district administration is located in Diktel. The city was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Bamrang , Diktel , Kahalle and Laphyang . The urban area covered at this time 70.13 km².

The city was originally called Diktel , but was renamed on March 10, 2017 after more VDCs were incorporated. The city grew to an area of ​​246 km² and a total of almost 47,000 inhabitants.

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the city of Diktel emerged, had 17,793 inhabitants (of which 8,414 male) in 3,858 households.
