geography

Dillendorf lies at 684 m above sea level in a side valley of the Ehrenbach valley that is open to the south.

history

Grave finds from the Hallstatt and La Tène periods were made near Dillendorf . The place and a castle are named as Tillindorf in 797 in a deed of donation to the St. Gallen monastery . The local nobility of Dillendorf is mentioned for the last time in 1289. Under Abbot Heinrich the place came partially to the monastery of St. Blasien . The Lords of Ofteringen were also involved in the property, they sold their share in 1424 to Diethelm von Tannegg.

The Tanneggers were a sideline to the von Blumegg gentlemen . In 1443 Knight Thuringia von Hallwil acquired the dominion of Blumegg with the Dillendorf Castle , he sold it in 1448 to the monastery of St. Blasien . Dillendorf Castle was destroyed in the Peasants' War and is now completely gone. Dillendorf was now part of the St. Blasischen Office Blumegg in the imperial rule Bonndorf . During the Thirty Years War, the place was largely destroyed and then only slowly recovered. In 1798 there was a cattle disease. With the dissolution of the St. Blasien monastery in the secularization , Dillendorf came after some back and forth to the newly formed Grand Duchy of Baden in 1806 and remained an independent municipality until September 1974. On October 1, 1974, Dillendorf was incorporated into the town of Bonndorf.

Parish and pilgrimage church in Dillendorf

In 1368 Brigitta von Randenburg donated a field and a meadow to the Church of Our Lady in Dillendorf to maintain the eternal light. The current church dates back to the 17th century, with the interior and exterior undergoing major changes in the Baroque period . After the Thirty Years' War, first the rectory was rebuilt in 1665 and then from 1680–1681 the parish and pilgrimage church “To our dear Ms. von Dillendorf” and consecrated in 1683. The main aim of the pilgrimage church was to ask for rain in dry summers. The rectory also served as the administrative center and was located with the church in a baroque garden, which today only exists in fragments. Dillendorf was an independent parish until it merged with the Bonndorf-Wutach pastoral care unit with the branch church in Brunnadern .
