Tannegg Castle

The castle Tannegg , and Alt-Tannegg called, is an Outbound hilltop castle on a ridge about 1,500 feet east of Boll , a modern suburb of bonndorf in Waldshut ( Baden-Wuerttemberg ).

The castle, by a small ravine separated far from the castle New Tannegg is located, was built by the Edelfreien built by Tannegg and later passed to the Lords of niedereren Tannegg. After their move to Neu-Tannegg Castle at the latest at the end of the 13th century, Alt-Tannegg was sold to the Lords of Blumberg , then on to the related Lords of Blumegg, followed by the Lords of Wolfurt and from these to the Rechbergers . Johann von Rechberg's widow , Elisabeth von Werdenberg-Sargans, sold Alt- and Neu-Tannegg to the Counts of Lupfen in 1467 . The 50 by 10 meter large castle complex with core and outer bailey , of which no remains of the wall are visible, was already abandoned.

The Burgstall Tannegg is not far from the location of the Hörnleburg near Ewattingen .

coat of arms

The coat of arms of the younger lords of Tannegg from 1448 shows a golden shield with three green fir trees on three black hills with a silver helmet . The helmet cover is black and gold with three fir trees.
