Berauerhorn Castle

The castle Berauerhorn , and Horn , Horn Berau called, is a Outbound hilltop castle on a 640  m above sea level. NHN high terrain spur of the "Berauer Berg" between the Schwarza and the Schlücht near Berau, a district of the municipality of Ühlingen-Birkendorf in the district of Waldshut in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle, probably built by the Lords of Berau in the 12th century, was a large three-part castle complex, of which there are no remains.

The coat of arms of the Knights of Berau shows three bear heads. A relationship with the lords of Sellenbüren who also have a bear's head in their coat of arms and who gave possessions to the St. Blasien monastery can be assumed. Reginbert von Seldenbüren is considered to be the founder of the St. Blasien monastery .
