Neu-Tannegg Castle

The castle New Tannegg , also castle stronghold called, is the ruins of a hilltop castle at 695  m above sea level. NN on a ridge above the Wutach Gorge near Boll , a district of the town of Bonndorf , in the district of Waldshut in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The builders of the castle, which was probably built after 1200, are considered to be the Lords of Boll, who are mentioned as servants of the Barons of Krenkingen around 1160. It is not clear whether the name "Burg Boll" originally referred to a predecessor to Neu-Tannegg Castle. In the middle of the 13th century the castle came into the possession of the lords of Tannegg and in 1294 to the lords of Blumberg , who passed it on to the related lords of Blumegg . Egloff von Wolfurt bought the facility in 1366, and later the von Rechberg family . Around 1400 a landslide destroyed the northern part of the facility, which was acquired by Count Johann von Lupfen in 1467 . From 1460, Neu-Tannegg Castle was consistently referred to as " Burgstall ". Nearby was Tannegg Castle , known as Alt-Tannegg Castle.

The castle complex, which was once supposed to control the important ford Dietfurt in the Wutach , shows u. a. remnants of enclosing walls , the south side of the Palas and a moat for higher mountainside.
