As Imperial hunting lodge , hunting lodge or Old Town Hall into is Rheinheim in Waldshut -standing late Gothic quarry stone building with stepped gables referred. The Küssaberg Museum has been located in the vaulted cellar since 1985 .

history

The entrance portal above the outside staircase shows the year 1526 in which the building was probably built. In the former council chamber on the mezzanine floor there is a richly decorated Gothic statue in front of a row of six Gothic windows. Why the castle is called the Imperial Hunting Lodge is apparently not known, but the adjacent Rhine crossing makes it possible for important personalities to stay there. The name Jägerhaus, however, should indicate that an imperial hunter was employed here.

The town of Rheinheim had its own village court, the so-called cellar court , which was responsible for the towns in the Küssenberger valley (except for Reckingen and Kadelburg , which had their own village courts) . The local police detention cell was located here until the 19th century .

The attic was converted into apartments and the historic oak roof structure was extensively restored.
