Todtmoos rectory
The parsonage Todtmoos , also Priory Todtmoos , today mostly parsonage Todtmoos , is a historical building in Todtmoos in the southern Black Forest in the district of Waldshut .
The building in the vicinity of the pilgrimage church Todtmoos , used today as a rectory , was built in 1733 by Johann Michael Beer von Bleichten . It was one of the summer residences of the abbots of the St. Blasien monastery . At first the building was kept simple outside and inside, but redesigns and embellishments inside in the years 1748/49 and 1761 led to the name “palace”, which was understandable given the modest buildings in the area. A stairwell designed by Johann Kaspar Bagnato and with stucco work by Franz Anton Vogel connects the ground floor and first floor. The upper hall is decorated with a ceiling painting by the painter Johann Anton Morath with a representation from the biblical book Esther . The “prince's room” contains a beautiful faience oven and doors with flower ornaments made of different woods.
