Old weir castle
The Old Castle Defense , also castle defense called, is a castle on 336 meters above sea level in local situation of the city defense in the district of Waldshut in Baden-Württemberg .
It is located at Hauptstrasse 16 and is a three-story mansion with a striking stair tower . The castle was built by the barons of Schönau from 1570 to 1574 after they left Werrach Castle above the castle. It was restored from 1974 to 1978.
Today the citizens' office is located on the premises, and cultural events take place on the upper floor.
