The castle Blumpenbach is an Outbound lowland castle in Seltenbachtal close Schmitzingen and the former settlement Stunzingen northwest of Waldshut, a district of Waldshut-Tiengen in the district of Waldshut ( Baden-Wuerttemberg ).
The castle was the ancestral seat of the ministerial family von Blumpenbach, which can be proven from 1260 to 1332 . The castle probably served to secure and control the Seltenbach valley. The castle was probably abandoned in the 14th century and served as a quarry. The former field name "Klumpenburg" and the remains of the wall still indicate a fortified structure. The castle researcher Heinz Voellner mentions a relationship with the barons of Krenkingen . These were also related to the Blumeggern .
