Dimitré Dinev (* 1968 in Plovdiv , Bulgaria ) is a writer , playwright and screenwriter in German.

Life

He made his Matura in 1987 at the Bertolt-Brecht-Gymnasium in Pazardschik . In 1990 he fled across the “ Green Border ” to Austria, where he spent the following years doing odd jobs and studying philosophy and Russian philology in Vienna . Dimitré Dinev is married and lives as a freelance writer in Vienna. In 2003 he obtained Austrian citizenship.

Since 1991 he has been writing scripts, stories, plays and essays in German. He made his literary breakthrough in 2003 with his family novel Engelszungen , which was received with great interest across Europe. Works by Dimitré Dinev have now been translated into fifteen languages.

In 2016 he and fifteen other authors were selected by an expert jury for the publication SchreibArt AUSTRIA , a literary program of the cultural section of the Foreign Ministry, which , within the framework of Austrian foreign cultural policy , is intended to contribute to today's Austria in the world as one country is perceived with a lot of remarkable literary output.
