Dimitri Joseph Oberlin Mfomo (born September 27, 1997 in Yaoundé , Cameroon ) is a Swiss football player . He is currently under contract with FC Basel in the Swiss Super League .
Career
Oberlin received his training at FC Étoile-Broye and FC Lausanne-Sport , from where he switched to the junior school of FC Zurich . In 2014 he signed his first professional contract and made his debut on May 18, 2014 on the occasion of the home game against FC Aarau .
In 2015 he moved from Switzerland to the Austrian champions and cup winners FC Red Bull Salzburg , where he received a contract until 2018. He scored his first goal on the second day of the Bundesliga when they lost 2-1 to SK Rapid Wien .
In July 2016 he was loaned to the league competitor SCR Altach . There he scored nine goals in 20 games. In January 2017 he was ordered back to Salzburg.
In July 2017 it was awarded again, this time back to Switzerland to FC Basel , who also secured a purchase option after the one-year loan period had expired. FC Basel pulled this out on May 15, 2018 and provided him with a four-year contract until summer 2022.
Oberlin played for the first time in Switzerland's senior national team in a friendly against Greece on March 15, 2018, after playing in all junior national teams from 2012.
