Diogo Jorge Moreno Valente or Diogo Valente for short (born September 23, 1984 in Aveiro ) is a Portuguese football player .
Career
society
Valente started club football in 1994 in the youth department of Real Massamá . After six years he left this club and played a year for the youth division Boavista Portos . From 2001 he played for one season for the CD Feirense youngsters and then returned to Boavista Porto. Here he was given a professional contract in 2003 and then loaned to GD Chaves for the 2003/04 season. In the period from 2004 to 2006 Boavista then kept him in the professional squad and used him in 45 league games.
For the 2006/07 season Valente was signed by city and league rivals FC Porto . For this club, he completed only one league game until the summer of 2009. The second half of the 2006/07 season loaned him Porto to Marítimo Funchal and for the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons to Leixões SC . He then moved to Sporting Braga . At this club he only played the 2009/10 season and spent the next season as a loan player at Académica de Coimbra . This club also signed him at the end of the loan agreement.
In the 2012 summer transfer period, Valente Portugal left England and was signed by Romanian club CFR Cluj . Here he only played one season and spent the next two seasons on loan from Académica de Coimbra (loan) and Gil Vicente FC .
For the 2015/16 season he moved to the Turkish TFF 1st Lig to Şanlıurfaspor and played here for one season. In the summer of 2016, his contract was not renewed. He was without a club for a few months before joining SC Freamunde in the Portuguese Segunda League in November 2016 . With his new club, he had to relegate at the end of the 2016/17 season . He himself stayed in the league as he joined newly promoted UD Oliveirense . There he contributed eight hits to relegation in 2018 .
National team
Valente began his national team career in 2005 with a commitment for the Portuguese U-21 national team . In 2007 he also began to play for the second guard of the Portuguese A national team , the Portuguese B national team.
