Dirk Johannes Lehmann (born August 16, 1971 in Aachen ) is a German football player and coach . From 1992 to 1994 he played 18 games in the Bundesliga and scored three goals.

Career

When relegated to the second division Alemannia Aachen , Lehmann made the breakthrough in the Oberliga Nordrhein in 1990/91 and reached the runner-up with the club. In the following season, the young striker scored 15 goals in 29 appearances and moved to 1. FC Köln in 1992 . He played 18 times in Cologne and scored three goals in the Bundesliga .

Without any offers from Germany , he moved to Belgium after two years in the Bundesliga . There he played with Lierse SK and RWD Molenbeek until 1997 . Then Energie Cottbus brought him back to Germany. With the Brandenburgers he played 24 games in the 2nd Bundesliga .

After one season there, he joined in England the Fulham on. There he became a crowd favorite, which he owed both to his performances on the pitch and to his supposed resemblance to the porn star Dirk Diggler .

After further stints on the island at Hibernian Edinburgh , Brighton & Hove Albion and FC Motherwell , he moved to Japan . There he played from 2003 to the beginning of 2004 under coach Pierre Littbarski at Yokohama FC . For the second half of 2004 he moved to the second division SSV Jahn Regensburg , for which he only played six games.

That same summer he moved to the top division Borussia Freialdenhoven . There he played for the club's first team for eight years. In his first season 2004/05 he scored 15 goals for Borussia, with which he was relegated from the league at the end of the season. His son Dennis played for years for the 2nd team, for which Dirk acted as player-coach between 2012 and 2014. Since then father and son have played in the same team.

In the summer of 2014, Lehmann moved to Alemannia Bourheim , who had been promoted to Kreisliga A, and worked there as a player-coach. Originally only in his role as a trainer, Lehmann switched to Sportfreunde Düren in the regional league in the following season . For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Hambacher Spielverein .
