Dirk Schindelbeck

Dirk Schindelbeck (* 1952 in Unna , Westphalia) is a German author who works in both fiction and factual text.

Life

Dirk Schindelbeck studied from 1973 to 1983 at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg a . a. German studies , philosophy and received her doctorate in 1987 with a thesis on the genre history of the newer German sonnet . From 1988 to the end of the 1990s he worked closely with the historians Rainer Gries and Volker Ilgen ("Freiburg team of authors") and was involved in the Federal History Workshop from 1988 to 1997. Since 1997, he has published several books on cultural history together with Volker Ilgen. From 1992 to 1998 he was part of the “ DFG project Propagandageschichte Freiburg and Leipzig ” ( propaganda during the Cold War ).

Since 1998 he has been a freelance writer in the scientific and popular science as well as in the literary field. He writes for periodicals like DAMALS. The magazine for history , fiction magazines and the daily press. He also writes articles for radio and exhibitions, company chronicles and repeatedly poetry (winner of the Inge Czernik Prize for Poetry 2008). Lecturer at the PH Freiburg (Institute for German Literature) from SS 2002 to WS 2012/13. Editor-in-chief of the magazine FORUM Schulstiftung , the magazine for the Catholic independent schools of the Archdiocese of Freiburg from 2002 to 2013. At the beginning of the 2010s, he researched the education in the Catholic orphanage Günterstal in the 1960s. From October 2013 he worked in the BMBF research association Jena Hamburg Vienna PolitCigs - The Cultures of the Cigarette and the Cultures of the Political .
