The Dirlenbachtal nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the city of Freudenberg ( Dirlenbach district ) in North Rhine-Westphalia . The area covers an area of ​​16.2  hectares .

Geography and geology

The nature reserve is located in a low mountain range north of Dirlenbach , a district of Freudenberg. It is assigned to the Siegerland natural area in the Rhenish Slate Mountains . Area description

The protected area comprises an area in the Dirlenbach valley, which is characterized by open spaces and grassland use. Numerous biotope types are interlinked here. In the northern section, the protected area includes the spring streams in the forest. The stream is partly lined with spruce trees. In a few places there are near-natural riverbank areas with black alder. The valley floor has sump Beriche and Wet meadow with sedge and bins stock, wet Hochstaudenfluren and softwood stocks ( Weiden on). In the valley floor there is extensive cultivation through grazing. Located higher in the western area are drier areas.

Hazards
