history

In a chemical accident in 1986 in Schweizerhalle , practically the entire eel population of the Rhine was killed by Disulfoton and other chemicals that got into the river. In Karlsruhe , after almost 400 km of flow, a peak concentration of 25 μg / l was measured.

use

Disulfoton is a selective insecticide and acaricide , which is particularly effective against sucking insects. It is used on cotton, tobacco , sugar beet , corn, wheat, peanut and potato fields against aphids , fringed winged birds and spider mites .
