The Djupvatnet is a Norwegian lake in the town of Stranda , in the province of Møre og Romsdal .
The approximately 2 km² large lake is located at an altitude of around 1016 moh . It is fed by Hesteelva , the outflow of on the Dalsnibba located -Massivs Litledalsvatnet and numerous meltwater streams. The Djupvatnet part of the river system of the Glommas and dehydrated on the eastern shore initially over a stream in the Langvastjønna , who in turn replaced a system of streams and lakes ( Langvatnet , Nørdre- and Søre Lagervatnet , Breiddalsvatnet , Grotlivatnet , Heimdalsvatnet , Vuluvatnet , Pollvatnet and Hegebottvatnet ) flows into the Otta .
The Geirangerstraße , from which the private toll road Nibbevegen to Dalsnibba branches off , runs past the north shore of the lake . Djupvasshytta has been located at this intersection since the 19th century, directly on the lake shore . The Geirangerfjord and the very popular tourist destination Geiranger are located about 8.5 km (as the crow flies) northwest of the lake.
