Dmitri Anatoljewitsch Pestunow ( Russian Дмитрий Анатольевич Пестунов ; born January 22, 1985 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian - Kazakh ice hockey player who has been under contract with CS Progym Gheorgheni since August 2018 .
Career
Dmitri Pestunov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . From there he moved to the Russian club HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , for whose professional team the center made its debut in the super league in the 2002/03 season . In his rookie year , he scored four goals in 32 games. The following year he failed with his team only in the playoff final for the championship title at HK Awangard Omsk . The 2004/05 season he began again at Metallurg Magnitogorsk, but ended it at the capital club HK Spartak Moscow , for which he scored a goal in twelve games and was an assist.
In the summer of 2005 Pestunow returned to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk, with which he won the Spengler Cup later that year . In the 2006/07 season , the former junior national player became Russian champions for the first time in his career with HK Metallurg . Following this success, he joined his ex-club Spartak Moscow for a year. From 2008 to 2010, the Russian with a Kazakh passport played for HK Avangard Omsk in the newly founded Continental Hockey League before signing a contract with HK Tractor Chelyabinsk for the 2010/11 season . After six goals and eleven assists in 43 games, he moved to OHK Dynamo in January 2011 within the KHL . With the OHK Dynamo and HK Dynamo Moscow, respectively, he won the Gagarin Cup in 2012 and 2013 and thus the Russian championship again.
In October 2014 Pestunov was given to HK Tractor Chelyabinsk in exchange for financial compensation.
International
For Russia Pestunow took part in the U18 Junior World Championships 2003 , and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 . In 2003 he won the bronze medal with the U18 national team and the gold medal with the U20 national team. At the U20 World Cup in 2005, he was runner-up with his team.
