history
The Vienna world music ensemble Dobrek Bistro was founded in 2000 by the Polish accordionist Krzysztof Dobrek and the Russian violinist Aliosha Biz (* 1970 in Moscow). They had their first appearance in 2000 at the Vienna Accordion Festival. The name is derived from the Russian bystro (fast). The compositions are by Krzysztof Dobrek, he acts as a moderator together with Aliosha Biz. In 2004 the two founded their own record label dobrecords . In 2007 they achieved first place at the Concerto Poll in the categories of Best Artist Folk, World, Singer / Songwriter and Best Album Folk, World, Singer / Songwriter
