Peter Rosmanith
Peter Rosmanith (* 1956 in Gmünd / Lower Austria ) is an Austrian percussionist and composer.
Rosmanith grew up in Vienna, where he played as a drummer in various bands. At the Musikhochschule Wien he studied jazz drums and percussion with Fritz Ozmec . He then dealt with Indian, Arabic and Afro-Cuban music and took tabla lessons with the Indian master drummer Jatinder Takur .
He appeared with various world music formations such as the bands of Otto Lechner , Klaus Trabitsch and Christina Zurbrügg , the Liederlich Spielleut , Lakis & Achwach , Dobrek Bistro and the Bethlehem All Stars and acted as a sideman on around thirty albums.
As a composer he worked a. a. for the Theater in der Josefstadt , the Theater der Jugend and the Theatro Piccolo (with Marko Simsa ). He also wrote radio play music a. a. for Austrian and Southwest German broadcasting. He is a founding member of the record label Windhund Records .
In 2000 his solo CD Aans was released (with Marwan Abado , Christian Breuer , Georg Graf , Franz Hautzinger , Wolfgang Hering , Otto Lechner, Adula Ibn Quadr , Dieter Strehly , Doris Windhager , Reinhard Ziegerhofer ).
