periodic flow (only water-bearing in the rainy season)

The Dolacuain is a river in the East Timorese municipality of Manatuto . Outside of the rainy season, like most other rivers in north Timor, the river dries up.

course

The Dolacuain rises in the border area between the Sucos Lifau and Aiteas . It then also follows the border between Lifau and Suco Ma'abat , until it finally flows into the Strait of Wetar on Timor's north coast .

From the west, a small tributary of Ma'abat connects the Dolacuain with the system of Lagoa Lamessana , which consists of two lakes and several water arms.

bridges

A bridge leads the northern coastal road, one of the most important traffic routes in the country, over the Dolacuain.
