Doldinger in New York: Streets of Dreams is a jazz album by Klaus Doldinger that was recorded and released in 1994.
background
Klaus Doldinger, one of the leading European fusion musicians since 1970 , plays jazz again on this album. Doldinger, who can be heard on the tenor and soprano saxophone, is supported by pianist Tommy Flanagan , bassist Charnett Moffett and drummer Victor Lewis . Vibraphonist Roy Ayers and percussionist Don Alias also play on some of the pieces.
The pieces on the album are a mixture of Doldinger's own compositions like “Cocomotion” and “Yellow Cab” as well as jazz standards like “I Got It Bad”, “Skylark”, “ Well, You Needn't ” and “ Speak Low ”.
reception
In 1995 the album received the quarterly award of the record review and was nominated for the German record award.
