Domenico Spinucci
Domenico Spinucci (* 2. March 1739 in Fermo , Papal States ; † 21st December 1823 in Benevento ) was an Italian cardinal .
Life
Spinucci studied law as a teenager in Bologna and received his doctorate on July 5, 1757. Six years later he was ordained a priest . Afterwards he was Pro- Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Fermo . In April 1775 he was by Pope Pius VI. Appointed Titular Bishop of Targa . He received episcopal ordination from Cardinal Urbano Paracciani , the archbishop of his hometown. In 1777 he became bishop of Macerata e Tolentino and in 1787 diocesan administrator of Recanati and Loreto.
In 1796 Spinucci became archbishop and received the Archdiocese of Benevento . Pope Pius VII elevated the 77-year-old cardinal in the consistory of March 8, 1816 and appointed him cardinal priest of San Callisto . At the conclave of 1823 Domenico took Spinucci (probably for reasons of age) does not participate.
He died that same year at the age of 84. His grave is in the Cathedral of Benevento.
