Dominic Chianese (born February 24, 1931 New York ) is an American actor who is best known for his role as Corrado "Junior" Soprano from the HBO series The Sopranos .

Life

Chianese is the son of Italian immigrants from the Bronx , his father was a bricklayer . After high school, he studied drama at Brooklyn College . He began his acting career in musicals and Broadway theaters and is also musically active. Even before his role in Sopranos , he mainly played Mafia characters in American television productions. He gained fame by the cult film of 1974 , The Godfather II , in the role of Johnny Ola . In 1992 he took on a supporting role in the movie The Reporter . In 2002 he was seen in a small role in Unfaithful with Richard Gere .

He has been married to Jane Pittson-Chianese since June 2003 . Chianese has a son.
