Dominic Jan Graham Mahony , MBE (born April 26, 1964 in Plymouth ) is a former British pentathlete who is now an association official.

Career

Mahony was part of the British team for the first time at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul . In the individual competition he came 16th . With the team, which included Richard Phelps and Graham Brookhouse in addition to Mahony , he won the bronze medal. His results at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona were less successful . So he did not get beyond 36th place in the individual , with the team he reached sixth place.

His only medal at world championships he won in 1987 with 3rd place in the team competition with Richard Phelps and Graham Brookhouse. In 1992 and 1994 he was British champion.

After his active career, Mahony was appointed to the board of the world association . Since 1998 he has also been on the board of the British Pentathlon Association. For his honorary services, he was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2014.

He works for a consulting firm in Buckinghamshire . Mahony is married to former pentathlete Kate Houston , with whom he has three children.
