Sabel is a district of the town of Burg Stargard in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

geography

The place is located three kilometers south-south-east of the town of Burg Stargard and ten kilometers south-south-east of Neubrandenburg in a terminal moraine area east of Lake Tollensee . The neighboring towns are Dewitz in the north-east, Rosenhagen in the east, Teschendorf in the south-east, Riepke in the south, Godenswege in the south-west, Holldorf in the west and Rowa in the north-west.

history

Sabel is first mentioned in a document in 1170. At that time the place was called "Tsaple".

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Sabel was incorporated into the town of Burg Stargard and became a district there.

The village church of Sabel has been included in the list of monuments of the Mecklenburg Lake District.

traffic

The place can be reached via two connecting roads. The northern one connects it directly with the town of Burg Stargard and the eastern one leads to Landesstraße 331 , which runs in north-south direction , which leads to Burg Stargard and in the opposite direction to Bundesstraße 198 in Stolpe . The Berlin Northern Railway passes just under 300 meters west of the town . There is no breakpoint here.
