Donato (rapper)

Donato (born March 16, 1983 ; real name Marco E. Donato ) is a German rapper and producer from Dortmund . He is under contract with the label headphone recordings .

biography

Donato began his rap career shortly before the turn of the millennium in the four-man hip-hop formation Lyrische Dominanz . However, this soon dissolved again, so that the founding of the duos Lamythz , Donato and the previous Lyrische-Dominanz member Peitz belonged to. The two rappers quickly made a name for themselves in their region through frequent live performances . So they appeared at the Masters of Tour as the opening act for MOR and Aceyalone . The EP 2Fuffzich was released in 2003 as the first publication by Lamythz .

In 2004, Donato first attracted attention as a solo artist when he contributed the song Schweigen for the producer album Snapshots III by Roey Marquis II . Subsequently, Donato worked with renowned hip-hop artists such as Pal One and Spax .

On October 14, 2005, Donato released his debut album Back then As Now on Flavamatic / Rough Trade . The sound carrier was produced u. a. by Screwaholic , Brisk Fingaz , and Roey Marquis II. The sound carrier was published in a small edition and is now sold out. For this reason, the CD was offered as a free download on the Internet in 2009 . For the release of the album, Donato also offered the free EP Brainstorming , which featured Donato's collaborations with various hip-hop artists. The nine tracks a total of twelve guest contributions .

More than a year after his first solo album , the collaboration album Mond-Licht-Schatten was released on December 8, 2006 , which Donato recorded together with Inferno79. The beats were contributed by the producers Blazin Hand, Ill-luzion and Screwaholic, who was under contract with ersguterjunge at the time .

Another collaboration project by Donato appeared two years later. Together with mnemonic he released the EP Kings among the Blind on Headphone Records. Thereupon six alluding stations could be heard. Inferno79 supports the two rappers on three of them. The beats were produced by PH7, Rooq, Rkee and Duktusbeats. The mixing and mastering took Ex- Bozz Music -producer STI.

The second solo album Angst was released on December 4, 2009. There were guest contributions from Inferno79, Absztrakkt , Morlockk Dilemma , Wuakyla Styles and Soundbwoy Boogie. The 15 productions came from 12bit, Beatgees , Bjet, Blazin Hand, Brisk Fingaz, Drop One, Duktusbeats, Empulse, ILL-Luzion, Screwaholic and Zaehre. Work on the album began in autumn 2007. The sound carrier was named after the anxiety and panic attacks that Donato had during phases of the album production.

In the run-up to the album release, a remix by producer Rooq of the title track Angst was released as an online single in mid-November . In addition to Donato, Fiva , Pure Doze , mnemonic, Inferno79 & Franksta could also be heard. The proceeds went to the Hamburg foundation Irre Menschlich e. V. benefit. On March 14, 2014, Donato's third solo album, Enzo , was released .

Donato usually performs his music as rhythmic spoken chant . He raps in a deep, constant voice .

I also think that what is very typical of the Ruhr area is not to practice tight rope dancing on the voice. I always find that kind of annoying. I like it better ...
