geography

course

Dorfbach at Otelfingen station

The brook rises as a Bacherenbach on a forest path in the Sandacher forest above Boppelsen at 415  m above sea level. M. It now flows mainly in a south-westerly direction and reaches a field early under which it is overturned for around 60 meters. Only a little later, again flowing openly, it takes up its right branch in a wood, which is fed by a small, nameless pond. He leaves the wood again and is accompanied by a light forest border. A dirt road follows it for around 230 meters and shortly after its end it is fed from the right by the Langwiesenbach .

Still bordered by fields for a short stretch, it finally reaches Boppelsen, where it is first accompanied by a dense forest border for a short section. It picks up the Hungerbach from the left and now reaches settlement areas, where it has been buried for around 140 meters. In this section it is reached by the water of the Weierbach , which is also overturned and rises from a small pond below the Hochwachtfuss reservoir .

The stream, which is called Hulligenbach from here on, now flows through the village and is only overturned in small sections. It leaves the settlement area and is again accompanied by a denser forest edge, which is bordered by fields on both sides. On this section of the stream, it receives the water from the Stockacherbach and Langwisgraben from the right . Shortly after its confluence, the stream turns in a wood towards the southwest and at the same time forms a small ravine. Here the Leisenbach pours from the right into the stream, which is now called the Dorfbach.

It is now taking a south- easterly course and from the Rütiwis corridor , a little above Otelfingen, it runs in an artificial stream bed. The brook flows through the Otelfingen settlement area, where it was only buried in the ground in short sections. It flows straight between the golf course and the ARA into the Furtbach, which here is also straightened after a renatured section.

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Dorfbach measures 5.89 km². The Office for Waste, Water, Energy and Air, Department of Water Protection rounds the catchment area up to 6 km², of which 3.4 km² are forest, 2 km² agricultural area, 0.6 km² settlement area and 0.01 km² unproductive area. The highest point is on the Lägern with about 862  m above sea level. M. reached, the lowest point is in front of the mouth at 420  m above sea level. M. , which corresponds to a difference of about 442 meters. In the west is the catchment area of the Schwarzenbach and in the east that of the Harberenbach , both of which also drain into the Furtbach.
